An Air Conditioner with Fresh-Air Intake Cannot Replace a Dedicated Fresh-Air System

Can a fresh-air air conditioner replace a dedicated fresh-air unit? This is why it is difficult to give a simple yes-or-no recommendation for such products. Many people who ask whether a fresh-air air conditioner is worth buying are really hoping that it can replace a dedicated fresh-air unit. Unfortunately, although the fresh-air module operates on the same basic principle, its performance is fundamentally different.

One Xiaomi fresh-air air conditioner, for example, claims an extra-large fresh-air volume of up to 60 m3/h. Its product information clearly states, however, that 60 m3/h is only the maximum and that actual performance depends on the installation environment. That figure is essentially the maximum under ideal laboratory conditions, and users will find it difficult to achieve after real-world installation.
