Structural CharacteristicsMultifilament filter cloth is woven from yarns made by twisting several fibers together. This multifiber construction generally creates a tighter weave and a smooth fabric surface.
Industrial multifilament filter cloth
Performance Advantages
High strength and stability: twisting multiple fibers into each yarn gives multifilament filter cloth high strength and excellent elasticity. It maintains a stable structure and strong filtration performance under substantial mechanical stress and resists deformation, tearing and breakage.
High filtration accuracy: the relatively rough surface and small spaces between fibers make it easier for the cloth to form a stable, uniform filter cake during filtration. It effectively retains fine airborne particles and performs well against fine dust, pollen, smoke and other pollutants. This provides high-precision filtration for places with demanding air-quality requirements.
Good cake release: although its structure is relatively complex, multifilament filter cloth still releases filter cake well. After filtration, the cake can be removed from the cloth surface relatively easily, simplifying subsequent cleaning and maintenance and improving filtration-system operating efficiency.
Limitations
Because the spaces between fibers are small, the cloth readily adsorbs and traps large quantities of fine particles during extended filtration. This can cause clogging and reduce filtration efficiency and ventilation volume. Regular cleaning or replacement is therefore necessary to maintain performance.
Applications
Industrial air filtration: production in the chemical, pharmaceutical, electronics, food and beverage industries requires high-precision air filtration to protect product quality and production-area cleanliness. Multifilament filter cloth can be used in air-purification systems in these industries to remove dust, microorganisms, chemical pollutants and other contaminants, supplying clean air for production processes.
Heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems: multifilament filter cloth is widely used in air filters for building HVAC systems. It removes dust, pollen, mold spores and other impurities from incoming air, improves indoor air quality and provides a comfortable, healthy indoor environment.
Air purifiers: household and commercial air purifiers also commonly use multifilament filter cloth as a filtration material. It effectively removes harmful particles and pollutants, improves indoor air quality and helps protect occupants' health.
