1. Common termsRated airflow: The volumetric flow of air passing through an air filter per unit of time under standard air conditions. The commonly used unit is m3/h.
Filtration efficiency: At rated airflow, the air filter's ability to remove particles from the air stream; namely, the ratio of the difference between upstream and downstream particle concentrations to the upstream concentration. The commonly used unit is %.
Resistance: The static-pressure difference before and after an air filter at rated airflow. The commonly used unit is Pa.
Initial resistance: The resistance of an air filter in its clean, untreated initial condition. The commonly used unit is Pa.
Final resistance: At rated airflow, the resistance reached after the air filter captures standard test dust and its resistance rises to the specified value.
Dust-holding capacity: At rated airflow, the total mass of standard test dust captured by an air filter when it reaches its final resistance. The commonly used unit is mg.
