Follow this four-step cleaning method.Disconnect power -> Remove -> Clean -> Reinstall
Disconnect power
For safety, disconnect the power supply before you begin cleaning.
For FFU products, consult the manual and disconnect power before replacing or cleaning the filter. Also avoid touching live components, tipping the unit and causing a crushing injury, or creating other mechanical hazards.
Note: Some brands instruct users to wait for a specified period after disconnecting power before removing the filter. Some purifiers also have a detection chip installed on the pre-filter, so take care not to dislodge it.
Removal
Following the manual, open the air purifier's filter-compartment door and remove the filters in sequence. Clean or dismantle other parts of the unit only to the extent that your practical skills allow; stop before you reach the point where you cannot reassemble it.
Cleaning
Filter-based air purifiers commonly use three main filter types: pre-filters, activated-carbon filters, and HEPA filters.
